One name per line.

This random letter generator uses a wheel to select a letter from an alphabet. Start with A–Z, or choose a supported preset such as vowels or consonants. Spin the wheel for phonics practice, spelling games, writing prompts, or a quick classroom activity.

The letter wheel

Choose the alphabet or preset you want to use, then spin. Before starting, decide whether letters should be eligible again after they are selected. A wheel is especially useful when a class can see the selection happen on a shared screen.

Classroom uses

Adapt the activity to learners' ages and language levels. For younger students, use a small, familiar set before moving to the full alphabet.

Custom alphabets

Some languages use letters with diacritics or scripts that differ from A–Z. If the editor accepts custom entries, add the exact characters you need and check that they display correctly. Do not assume every script or character is supported without testing it in the wheel.

Frequently asked questions

Can the wheel pick only vowels?

Use a vowel preset if one is provided, or create a custom list containing only the vowels you want to practise. Check the list before spinning so consonants are not included by mistake.

Can I add letters with accents?

If custom entries are supported, you can enter accented letters directly. Test the rendered wheel first, especially when using characters from a language other than English.

Can a letter be picked twice?

That depends on whether the tool repeats entries or removes a selected letter. Check the available repeat or elimination controls before starting the activity.
